New Delhi: Google has finally revealed the new operating system Android 14, which was first announced at Google’s I/O 2023 developers conference in May. Paired with new features like in-built Health Connect and Zen AI wallpapers, Android 14 aims to improve the user experience forever.
Customize with personality and mood
Google announced that users with Android 14 can customize their smartphones according to their personal preferences. You can now easily switch between wallpapers or set custom lock screen shortcuts like the QR Reader or Google Home app.
Additionally, the new OS allows you to choose from a set of new, curated lock screen templates for fonts, widgets, colors and formats that best suit you. Plus, they use AI to adjust your screen based on your position. For example, your weather widget will become more prominent if the weather suddenly turns bad.
Generative AI Wallpaper
First arriving with the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, Gen AI wallpapers are expected to change the smartphone experience forever. It allows you to create wallpapers as per your imagination by giving hints through text. You can choose from suggestions to create a never-before-seen wallpaper.
It offers a monochromatic theme for those who want to stay away from the colorful sphere and gives an aesthetic look to your phone.
In-built Health Connect
Health Connect will serve as a central repository to store all your data in one place and stay in control of your privacy. Furthermore, Google said that your data is securely encrypted on your phone, ensuring privacy and security. You can sync data with your favorite health and fitness apps like Ora, Peloton, and Whoop.
Greater visibility into how data is being used by third-party apps
Android 14 will take advantage of your privacy by notifying you when an app is sharing location data with third parties. Based on this, you can make more informed decisions about whether or not to grant access.
Device personal identification number (PIN)
Android 14 enhances PIN security by encouraging you to set a six-digit PIN. After typing the correct 6-digit or longer PIN, you will not need to press Enter as your device will automatically unlock.
More features for low vision and hard of hearing users
Google said improvements to the Magnifier on Android 14 are more intuitive, with the ability to zoom in and zoom out from 100% for users with low vision.
You can also change the size of the Magnifier or customize how much of the screen you want to magnify in the new Magnifier Settings panel. To keep your magnifier from turning off when you switch from one app to another, you can set your magnifier to “Keep on when switching apps” in Android’s Accessibility settings.
Android 14 has more intuitive ways to connect and interact with your hearing aids, like a dedicated hearing-aid setup flow from Accessibility Settings, an easier way to route audio to different outputs, and shortcuts to quick access to hearing aid controls. Capacity.
